In this practice workshop we will be introduced, or reminded, of the meditation essentials as practiced in Buddhism. We will alternate between shorter teaching sessions and shorter practice sessions.
Meditation practice gives us the opportunity to begin to choose how we respond rather than blindly reacting. It allows us to begin or continue our journey of inner exploration with an attitude of kindness and open curiosity.
And compassionate awareness meditation allows us to begin to access this wonderful heart we have been walking around with this whole time. Practicing how to be kind with ourselves so that we can become kind with others as well.
We will also be introduced to the beginning stages of visualization meditation. A powerful practice supporting our meditation journey.
This practice is open to absolute beginners, as well as those with years of regular meditation experience. Keeping a beginner’s mind becomes even more important the longer we have been practicing.
And of course, you do not need to be Buddhist to benefit immensely from the Buddhist teachings. All are welcome.
